Localnauts – GPS Time-Travel Adventure through Rixdorf
Localnauts turns a Berlin neighbourhood into a walkable time-travel. In our first route, "The Lost Chest of Rixdorf", a crew of children aged 8 to 12 steps into the year 1737 and explores the historic Bohemian Village in Berlin-Neukölln.
Guided by GPS, the kids move from station to station, read the traces still standing today, solve puzzles and make decisions together as a team – and piece together a whole story until they recover the lost chest.
No app download, no account: the game runs right in the browser, in German and English. One game code works for a crew of 2 to 6 people. The route is about 2.5 km and takes 90 to 120 minutes.
Localnauts is a serious game – real play with real learning. Along the way, children strengthen teamwork, critical thinking, media literacy and the confidence to have a say. All outdoors, in the real city, head and body active at once.
Ideal as a family afternoon, a birthday adventure or a school field trip. Privacy is built in: no app, no account, no storage of children's data.
The outdoor game can be played at any time.
