Odissi Dance

For over two decades, the journey of Odissi has been an integral part of Subhalaxmi Mahanta’s artistic life. Beginning her training at the age of 8 under Guru Sri Dhrubacharan Biswal at Bhanja Kala Kendra, Rourkela, she later completed her Master’s degree in Odissi and has performed at many prestigious festivals across India.

Since 2017, Subhalaxmi has been a teacher and ensemble member at Nrityantar Academy of Performing Arts, Bengaluru, under the mentorship of Ustaad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar Awardee Guru Smt. Madhulita Mahapatra. With her rich experience, patient guidance, and passion for nurturing learners, she creates an inspiring and supportive space for students to begin or deepen their Odissi journey.

The classes will place strong emphasis on developing and refining Odissi technique. Dance pieces will be taught according to the student’s level.
