Scratch Coding Adventure: From Beginner to Game Creator (Ages 10–12)
Give your child a fun and practical introduction to coding through Scratch. This beginner-friendly 6-session course is designed for children aged with no previous programming experience.
Students will learn coding by creating rather than simply watching. Starting with the Scratch interface and their first simple program, they will progressively learn how to create and animate characters, control movement, add sounds, respond to keyboard and mouse events, use loops and conditions, and create variables for scores and lives.
Each session combines a short guided lesson with hands-on coding activities and creative challenges. Children are encouraged to experiment, solve problems, and debug their own programs with teacher guidance.
Across the course, students progress from simple animations to interactive game mechanics. In the final session, they bring their new skills together to design, build, test, and present their own Scratch game.
No previous coding experience is required. Scratch is a visual, block-based programming platform, making it an accessible and engaging introduction to computational thinking and game development.
